Why is it canonical?

Designed as a monumental reliquary for relics acquired by Louis IX (St. Louis), Sainte-Chapelle served as the royal chapel, and achieved things with windows and light completely unparalleled in other strcutures. The walls of the chapel are convered almost entirely with stained glass, and creates an entire space that inspires its visitors with its magical illumination.
