Strabon rerum geographicarum 1620

circa 20 BCE - 23

Why is it canonical?

The Geographica served as a compendium of all geographical knowledge acquired over the course of Greek civilization and made Strabo its author one of the best known resources in history of geography. Writing during the transition of the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire, the resource gained all new influence as it disseminated across the new, vast empire.
