Meditations on First Philosophy

1641

Why is it canonical?

Descartes's primary metaphysical and philosophical treatise called into question all of the greatest philosophers that preceded him, and became one of the most, if not the most, philosophical work of all time, influencing generations of scholars after him. His metaphysical and mathematical work ushered in an entirely new area of science.
