Why is it canonical?

Al-Kindi is widely considered to be the father of Arabic philosophy, and is the author of hundreds of treatises on science, mathematics, and physics. Many of these works were collected and published as a compendium, which influenced generations of Arabic and European philosophers eager to carry on his legacy and by extension the legacy of the classical philosophers.
