Vite (full title: The Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects) is the artist Giorgio Vasari's deeply influential book on the artists and architects of his time in the generations that preceded his. To this day, Vasari's work is considered the first serious work of art history ever written.
