Kaisersaal Residenz

1751 - 1752

Why is it canonical?

This great oval hall features the classic Rococo color palette: white, gold, and pastel shades. It blends German, Italian, and French traditions. Giovanni Battista Tiepolo was responsible for many of the frescoes. Tiepolo was one of the greatest examples of Italian Rococo, which oddly rarely occurred in Tiepolo's home country, instead developing in European capitals outside of Italy.
